About the Puppies

How much are they?

The rehoming fee varies by puppy and ranges from $1,800 - $2,000. This fee is negotiable within reason as our principal goal is to get each puppy into a loving forever home that will cherish them and treat them as a family member. The rehoming fee includes the initial exam and health certificate for the puppy, its first round of vaccinations as required by the State of Florida, microchipping, deworming, and a puppy care pack that contains a small bag of food, a small leash, a collar, a blanket with their litter mates smell and of course a freshly bathed, clean and happy puppy on the day of delivery.

Are they house trained?

We started working with our puppies at a young age and it's been going very well. However, they're still puppies so you should expect some accidents as a result of their age and the initial anxiety that will come with entering a new home with lots of new sights, smells and people.

How big will they get?

We don't make any promises or assurances about future size. Toby (Dad) and Tilly (Mom) are both miniature Sheepadoodles, which can range from 25-55lbs. Toby is 53lbs and 21 inches to his shoulder. Tilly is 49lbs 22 inches to her shoulder. However, since the puppies have Old English Sheepdog in their lineage, they could end up anywhere along the spectrum, being more Sheepdog, more Poodle or anything in between. It's difficult to predict how big each will become.

Are they hypoallergenic?

What people are usually asking with this question is whether or not they will shed and the answer is probably not, but we can't guarantee it. Both Toby (Dad) and Tilly (Mom) are first generation Sheepadoodles and they do not shed. Since they are a mixed breed of Sheepdog and Poodle, we can't say for certain how much Sheepdog and how much Poodle each puppy will inherit - so no promises.

What kind of diet are they on?

Currently the puppies are on a diet of Wellness Complete Health Dry Puppy Food and Honest Kitchen Human Grade Dehydrated Grain Free Dog Food. A small bag of food will be provided when you take ownership of your puppy.

Do they like swimming?

Our parent Sheepadoodles enjoy swimming and it's important your puppy becomes comfortable with water at a young age. We use different size splash/kiddie pools and let them drink out the waterhose to safely introduce them to the water. At their current age, the puppies are not capable of swimming for more than 1-2 minutes. No different than a toddler, they should be supervised at all times when they are near bodies of water that could pose a drowning hazard.

Are they good with other animals?

We live on a small homestead with ducks, geese, horses and chickens. They've been introduced to all of the animals and seem to get along great.

Are they good with kids?

Sheepadoodles are an EXCELLENT choice for kids. They are friendly, intelligent, playful, very social and extremely loyal pets. They will provide your children with some of the best memories of their lives and like any good dog, they will protect their family. That said, like all dogs Sheepadoodles will do best with some training.

Do they need a lot of exercise?

Most dogs need a good amount of exercise to stay healthy and Sheepadoodles are no exception. You should be prepared to take them for daily walks/runs. They are not dogs that can be confined to a backyard. If you live on acreage like we do, walks/runs may not be a daily neccesity as they can get plenty of exercise just running around their own place.

How often do they need to be groomed?

It depends on your climate and setting. We live on a homestead in a warm climate and our dogs live inside, so our dogs need a coat trim every 4-6 weeks, and a wash at least every week because being a farm dog is dirty work. If you live in a cooler climate you can get away with fewer coat trims. Regardless, Sheepadoodles need regular maintenance and grooming. Regular washes, nail trims and brushing can add up quickly if not done on your own so keep that in mind.

What are the downsides of Sheepadoodles?

Sheepadoodles might not be a great fit if someone will not be around on a regular basis. They are highly social and playful dogs that need regular stimulus and interaction from their families. A bored dog will develop bad habits such as chewing up property, digging, and chasing animals. If you're not able to keep them well exercised, you should probably consider an older dog or better yet, a cat.

What is the purchase/adoption process?

Gainesville Sheepadoodle is a recognized GoodDog™ breeder. GoodDog is a platform for dog lovers who want to know they are purchasing a healthy pet from an ethical and responsible breeder. All GoodDog breeders are screened and their sires and dams are required to show verifiable proof of health. We use GoodDog exclusively so that our customers can be assured that they are getting happy, healthy dogs that will provide their family with many, many years of cherished memories. Best of all, GoodDog costs our customers absolutely nothing at all, making it a win-win for everyone involved.

Are there any warranties or guarantees?

Each puppy will come with a Florida State Health Certificate from our local veteranarian. Each puppy has been microchipped, dewormed and had their inital round of vaccinations. They have also received a basic examination and any health issues identified will be identified on the puppy's profile page on this website, as well as documented in the health certificate you receive. Our warranty is limited to the puppy's health condition at the time you take ownership. We promise that the puppy will be free of communicable disease, and has been given the required vaccinations for its age. You may have the puppy examined by a licensed veteranarian within 5 days of taking ownership of the puppy and if your vet says something is wrong, we'll take them back and provide a refund in full, including boarding fees, or transfer those fees to the purchase of a different dog - your choice. We do not make any assurances about their future health or behavior beyond this due to factors beyond our control.

Is a deposit required?

We're not accepting deposits. Puppies will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you want to purchase a specific puppy and can't take delivery within 5 days of signing the purchase contract, you can pay a boarding fee of $25 per day. This will ensure your puppy is not made available to others for purchase and will cover our costs of caring for the puppy until you can take delivery. Please Note: Boarding fees must be paid in advance and are in addition to the purchase price. Boarding fees will not be subtracted from the purchase price or refunded in the event that you are unable to take ownership of the puppy..

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

All payments for our Sheepadoodles are facilitated through GoodDog.com. There are no fees or costs to pay for a dog on GoodDog.com if you opt to pay using an ACH Bank Transfer. You can also pay via major credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or via ACH bank transfer.

Unfortunately, we're unable to offer payment plans at this time.

What if I purchase a puppy but need to back out before taking delivery?

In the event that you are unable to complete the purchase and take ownership of the puppy, we'll refund your purchase price minus a $250 fee which is intended to cover our costs for caring for the puppy for an extended period of time, as well as our time spent finding a new home for the puppy.

Can they be shipped?

Our primary goal with each adoption is ensuring each of our Sheepadoodles end up in a great home that will love and care for them. We'd love to meet each new family in person on the day of delivery to ensure this. As a result, we will not ship any of our dogs and will only transfer ownership in person.

Can I fly in to pick up a puppy and fly back out with it?

Subject to your airline's requirements on flying with an animal - sure! The puppies are small enough to comfortably fit in a carrier that can be taken into the passenger cabin. Gainesville, FL has a small, quiet, clean and modern regional airport (GNV) with daily direct flights to Atlanta, Dallas, Miami and Charlotte on American and Delta airlines. While we prefer to meet you at our home so that you can see your puppy in its most natural state, we're willing to meet you at the Gainesville Regional airport, Jacksonville, FL International airport (JAX), Orlando, FL International (MCO), Tampa, FL International (TPA) or any other airport within a 2-hour drive of Gainesville, Florida.
